Recently, Pearl opened a wholesale boutique at Kenanga Wholesale City and I helped her with her goodie bags. I have decided to make some bookmarks for her grand opening.
First, I did some sketches in my moleskine. I was thinking maybe 4 designs in 50 bookmarks would be ok. She is inviting 30 but I am saving up the rest to give away to my friends or readers.
These are all the quick sketches. At this point I wanted to get all the tones in the right places and wasn’t too worried about the lines.
After I am done, I did an ink art on an a4 paper and ink 3 best designs on it. Then I scanned it and cleaned up the lines. I arranged them on the screen and sent it out for printing.
With this, I am ready to color all my bookmarks!
I use Copic markers for this little project and add on highlights with a white marker.
Every one of them is different and unique in their own way.
I managed to finish 30 but I think I will get to the rest when I have more time.
If you are wondering why they seem like they are painted instead of a marker-style kinda art, that’s because I glossed the bookmark after I am done with it.
I also double paper it to make it thicker, didn’t realize that the ink will seep through!
Thats us during the launch last Saturday! Visit Verve at G-55, Kenanga Wholesale City and Merry Berry at 2-96.
I will finish up the bookmarks and let you have a chance to get your hands on them soon!
too bad the bookmark doesn’t work with my nook ebook reader :S
