One of my hobbies is driving aggressively, whether in go kart or gt5 and of course, my car. I have never really blogged about this before though..hmm. Anyway, when KY got an invitation to drive the Lotus Evora to JB and back I was really excited and can imagined all the good things that will happen.
We arrived at Proton Malaysia to be greeted by some of the meanest cars around.

Porsche Carrera 4s

A quick sketch I did during breakfast. Left page - Carrera, Right page - GTR
There were also a GTR during the trip, other cars include the Panamera, Ferrari and Lotus Europa. For the most, we get to drive a Lotus Evora.

Lotus Evora on display
Our ride however, is automatic and comes in dark grey.

Our ride for the trip
We were escorted by the Police in heavy traffic areas, thankfully. The car is great, handling it feels like the other cars on the road is parked. Kinda like the king of the road. The comfortable speed was around 160 km/h but I think our car managed to touch 260 km/h at a point. It is responsive and it took some time to get use to the brakes, which is much more responsive compared to my car of course.

In the passenger seat
I managed to drive on the way back and enjoyed the car immensely. The car is comfortable and sensible at high speeds but once you near 230 km/h you can see the mirror wobbling and shaking outside. Slightly scary but thats what you get when you have a need for speed.

Sketching during the trip
I never leave without my moleskine these days.. unless it couldn’t fit in my new bags. I have finally upgraded to leather bags you see, I used to only have ONE bag for EVERYTHING until it spoils. Regardless of the circumstances or event I use the same bag. How fashionable right.

Super Veloce and some Xmas decorations.
It wasn’t a very good trip for me but the car made it worthwhile. Guess you can’t have it all when you are a girl. Best if you just sit in the passenger side and be a nice christmas decoration that we are made to be.
Recently, I bought a great pile of books from Amazon. One of them was An Artist’s Complete Guide to Figure Drawing by Anthony Ryder. I just finished it and did a 5 hour sketch. He recommended that you do 12 sessions of 3 hours sketching but I don’t have that kinda dedication or patience and I was interested in the procedure instead of the realist result.

An Artist's Complete Guide to Figure Drawing
Anyway, I would greatly recommend this book for beginners who are interested in a different approach to drawing from life or photos. The modeling of the forms captivated me but while they are pretty, I am not very keen on creating art that are easily duplicated.

Graphite on Watercolor Paper
Hope you like it.

Imitating Garance Dore
Garance Dore is only the most famous and awesome fashion illustrator that has her own blog! I tried to emulate her sketches but it seems I need to get better ink, they are too diluted! Also, I did not know that pencil can serve as a resist when it comes to moleskine paper. Hmm.
Recently, I went to a food review as KY’s plus one. Usually in such cases, I reside happily in a little corner eating and doing whatever I like while KY enjoy his spot in the limelight. The food was amazing and it was inspiring.
Halfway throughout the dinner, I decided to do a sketch on my moleskine. To my astonishment, the lady next to me insisted on getting the photographers to snap my WIP and to ask the chef to autograph the sketch WHILE promising to introduce me to a great deal of people and also guaranteeing an appearance on their website.

Food served that night.
It was a big huha after that when the chef came over to sign the book. I had never seen so many cameras flash at me before.

Ze good looking chef creating an abundance of delicious and beautiful food for us.

Featured on The Lun, Chile Newspaper on Saturday
Few days later, I received an email stating that I had been featured in the Chile newspaper. Felt like midnight just striked for the Cinderella of Art. Thanks for the great night.
Whenever I feel sick, we would go to the row of Japanese restaurant in Subang and take a pick out of the lot. I love Japanese food, but when I am sick I want something warm instead of cold raw food.
I also recently bought a self inking chinese calligraphy brush for my drawings. I love the expressiveness of this tool but am still getting used to the “every stroke is precious” rule.

Food and Pottery at Jyuraku
I recently bought yet another moleskine with sketch papers inside for my art journal. I thought that the papers should be thick enough to withstand Copic markers, but no. They still seep through. I have to clean up the sketches in photoshop.

This is my first sketch in this moleskine. Btw, I have enabled lightbox for my blog. Clicking on a picture will now show you an enlarged version in a unobtrusive pop up.
