I have officially lost count of the number of time I have officially lost count of the number of times potential clients have gotten my name wrong. Let’s not even start with all the times the emcee announced my name wrongly before I go up on stage to perform speed painting. The funny thing is, they saw my work, my face or my portfolio in social media, news or video. They then made an active decision to hire me and hence they contacted me. This means they have seen my work and my name repeated across my work, links, portfolio and face. But. They seem to INSIST in their minds that my name is a TYPO across all my social media, portfolio, website etc and assigned me a name that is incorrect. Then they begin the conversation with “Hi Hazel. Saw your work/video/art on xxx we love your work/video/art and would love to hire you to…..” That’s like a validation and an insult at the same time. Wow I feel so loved and appreciated for all the hard work I put in, then why don’t you know my name???? If you saw me, love my stuff and want to work with me I believe you would know my name. Tqvm

Why choose the most difficult process when the easiest method is available? Why do we need to constantly challenge ourselves when we are perfectly capable of completing a task with simpler methods? Would we feel more accomplished if we took the long, hard journey instead of picking the lower hanging fruits? Remember that you have the power to make your life as easy as you want it to be.
